    About Tyler Allen

    Research Assistant and Student in Gainesville, FL

    Tyler Allen is a Gainesville, FL-based undergraduate research assistant at the University of Florida (UF), a position he assumed in January 2020. In Tyler Allen’s work at the Gainesville, FL college, he researches gamification and its potential impact on engineering education.

    Using previous research, he has developed software applications to promote further interest and participation in studies. To visualize engineering concepts, Mr. Allen has used the Unity AR Foundation framework and C# to develop an augmented reality application.

    Alongside the app, which was created for Android, he has used Java to create a thermodynamics mobile app. Tyler Allen holds a similar position with the Gainesville, FL-based Santa Fe College, which he joined in 2019.

    In the position, he creates applications focused on improving access to educational materials for students. The apps also look to increase interest in these educational materials. He is also pursuing a bachelor of science in computer science at UF. He began working toward the degree in 2019.
